Today, for most of us, being a parent, running a household, working full time leaves very little time for ourselves. Chris Whitwam is a father to twins and an older child living in the United Kingdom. Chris has a demanding career, passionate about diving and have dived in some of the most exotic locations in the world. In February 2011, his eldest daughter appeared in local and national news papers across the United Kingdom for being the youngest person to ever dive with Sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium (http://sharkdives.blueplanetaquarium.com/) We wanted to know 'How do it do it all???'
Here is a blog post by Chris on his approach to life and parenting and following his passions in life. There is a saying I have heard from a Mom of multiples and more Luba Chernov (Founder of Moms of Pelham http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/group.php?gid=50197596930) "If Momma is not happy, no one is happy" Maybe the same applies to Dads?:)
Very Proud and an Interesting Question
What a month!
My eldest daughter Jess (pictured above) has been all over the National and Local papers this month for being the youngest person to ever dive with Sharks at Blue Planet Aquarium. She has made me proud!
I’ve been asked a very interesting question.
How do I manage to do something as demanding as Diving, Include my children whilst having a busy job at the same time?

It’s a good question for a few reasons mainly as I’m a Daddy to Twins and an older child.
Any Dad knows how demanding life gets when children come along and any Daddy to twins knows the very big and unique challenges that presents.
My approach is very simple. My kids come first. They are my friends as well as my children and I am here to help them grow and prepare them for a full and challenging life.
I never ever force or push my kids into anything. If they want to dive or ski with me that’s great and if not then I do what they want to do too. Most importantly we have fun in everything we do, talk about our experiences and have a laugh.
It’s important you take the time to discover yourself and understand not only who you are but how much you are really capable of. Being a parent is all about helping your children along this journey to discover themselves, what they are good at and also what they need to work at.
I see being a parent as a privilege and a big responsibility.
